For the Pinot Gris "Drueskall," we ferment our fruit in multiple lots, utilizing whole berry fermentation, whole cluster fermentation, and carbonic maceration in different proportions depending on the vintage. The wine is in contact with the skins between 21 and 45 days, before barreling down for ~18 months. This multi-lot approach to "orange" Pinot Gris results in a wine with an assertive structure of tannin and acid, with detailed and exotic aromatics.

The Jazzy Juice philosophy came about during the 2018 harvest from a desire to make a juicy and bright, lighter-bodied red wine. The 2020 Jazzy is a blend of St. Laurent, Grüner, Zweigelt, Pinot Gris, Blaufränkisch, and Kerner grapes - yielding a delicious, quaffable red wine that can be enjoyed at room temp or even lightly chilled. The Jazzy Juice label is always an ode to our harvest team each vintage, and the 2020 crew was truly an exceptional group for a wild and crazy vintage!
