Johan Vineyards is a certified-Biodynamic estate vineyard and winery, located in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. As winegrowers, we have a very intimate connection to our site. With each growing season, we mature and evolve with the farm and find ourselves continually refining our approach in order to develop a more honest and true farm individuality. Our winegrowing is guided by the objective to authentically interpret our farm’s identity through the creation of wine. We believe the sense of place, the essence of our farm, is best expressed through our deep commitment to Biodynamic farming practices, native-yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention in the cellar.

The objective of our Pinot Noir is to create a bottling that most accurately represents our sense of place in a given vintage. We carefully select parcels of fruit from every rootstock/scion combination, aspect, vine age, and soil profile, creating a collage of the diverse expressions of our vineyard through the lens of Pinot Noir.

The focus of our Chardonnay philosophy & approach lies in secondary and tertiary aromatic and textural development of this noble grape variety.  With extended barrel aging prior to bottling, we see an increase in vineyard expression.  The clonal diversity of this wine brings complexity and balance to the whole.

"Three Barrel" is a blend of barrels that we find to be wildly expressive, exotic, and intriguing in each vintage. The selections are distinct each year, however we always aim for that same objective. Expect complex perfume and incense aromatics matched by tense acid and firm tannin on the palette. Built to age 12+ years, this wine will continue to stun so long as you keep yourself from drinking it!

Proud to introduce a bottle of bubbles that's 10 years in the making! This sparkling wine was crafted in the traditional Champagne method, using 60% estate Chardonnay and 40% estate Pinot Noir grapes. After a 10 months fermentation in barrel, the wine was bottled in July of 2011 and put to rest for 9 years on its lees. In spring of 2020 the bottles were disgorged and finished with zero dosage, resulting in a dry Brut Nature sparkling wine.
